Rock in Rio 2026 revealed new attractions on Thursday (March 12) for its first edition, taking place on September 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 13 at Parque Olímpico in Rio de Janeiro. Highlights include the South Korean group NEXZ making their Brazil debut and Brazilian artists like Pedro Sampaio and the Gilsons. The lineup expands with international names such as J Balvin and PJ Morton, joining headliners like Foo Fighters and Elton John.
The Rock in Rio 2026 festival, in its first edition, announced new attractions on Thursday (March 12), expanding the programming for the Mundo and Sunset stages. The event takes place on September 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 13 at Parque Olímpico in Rio de Janeiro.
On the Mundo Stage, September 11 features the Brazil debut of the South Korean K-pop group NEXZ, sharing the night with Stray Kids and DJ Alok. On September 12, J Balvin performs at the festival for the first time, alongside Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, and Pedro Sampaio, who brings digital platform hits to the stage.
For the Sunset Stage, on the September 7 holiday, Vanessa da Mata and Rubel open the day with a joint performance. That same day, the lineup includes Laufey, Péricles singing Motown, Roupa Nova inviting Guilherme Arantes, New Dance Order, and Fatboy Slim. On September 11, Grammy winner PJ Morton, a Maroon 5 member, takes the stage, along with Os Garotin inviting Duquesa and Jota.pê with Luedji Luna and Zaynara. On September 12, the Gilsons invite Daniela Mercury and Olodum, plus a show featuring Criolo, Amaro Freitas, and Dino D’Santiago.
Other confirmed acts include Foo Fighters on the Mundo Stage on September 4; Avenged Sevenfold and Bring Me The Horizon on September 5; and on September 7, Elton John, Gilberto Gil, Jon Batiste, and Luísa Sonza inviting Roberto Menescal. The Gilsons are formed by Fran Gil, José Gil, and João Gil, and recently announced their second album following Preta Gil's death.
