President William Ruto will host world leaders in Nairobi this October for the inaugural Global Trust Summit.
The summit will bring together Heads of State, senior government officials, business leaders, civil society organisations, academics, media representatives and young people from across the world.
It is convened by Strathmore University in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. The focus is a growing global crisis of trust affecting governments, public institutions, the media, businesses and digital platforms.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said Kenya has taken the bold decision to convene the Global Trust Summit in Nairobi from October 22 and 23 2026. He said the summit is a strategic diplomatic and governance initiative.
Ahead of the meeting, the State Department for Foreign Affairs has begun consultations with more than 20 Kenyan regulatory institutions. One expected outcome is the adoption of the Nairobi Declaration on Global Trust.
