Samsung Electronics reported second-quarter net profit of 71.62 trillion won, up 1,299.9 percent from 5.11 trillion won a year earlier. The Device Solutions division posted sales of 127.5 trillion won and operating profit of 89.2 trillion won, fueled by memory chip demand tied to AI infrastructure.

The memory business benefited from higher server product prices and strong adoption of agentic AI. The company became the first to begin mass production of HBM4 chips and delivered HBM4E samples to customers.

The Device Experience division recorded revenue of 48 trillion won and an operating loss of 800 billion won, mainly due to higher component costs in the mobile business.

Samsung said semiconductor demand is expected to remain robust in the second half, while the device division faces ongoing pressure and will undergo structural improvements.
