On February 14, Morena Senator Andrea Chávez Treviño posted Instagram images with Emil Kamar, a Chihuahua businessman, amid Valentine's Day celebrations. The photos, showing her hugged by him and wearing a ring on her ring finger, have sparked engagement rumors. Chávez, a contender for Chihuahua's 2027 governorship, has not issued further comments.
Senator Andrea Chávez Treviño of Morena shared personal photographs on her Instagram stories on February 14 for Valentine's Day. In one image, she appears at a social event in a golden outfit, hugged by Emil Kamar, accompanied by the message: “Happy Love and Friendship Day!”. In another photo, Kamar kisses her cheek as she smiles at the camera.
Emil Kamar is a young businessman from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, linked to the jewelry sector in the border region. Local media report he belongs to a family with economic presence in Ciudad Juárez and investments in the United States. His name gained public attention following Chávez's post, with the images highlighting a ring on the senator's right ring finger, fueling speculation of an imminent engagement.
To date, Andrea Chávez has provided no additional statements on the relationship. It is worth noting that the lawmaker had a romantic relationship with Abraham Mendieta, a Spanish political analyst active in Mexican media, visible on social networks since at least 2020, which ended in 2025. Mendieta remains one of her key political advisors.
Recently, Chávez has been involved in controversies. Abraham Mendieta defended the installation of a beauty salon in the Senate, a space that faced public criticism. Additionally, last year she faced accusations of early campaign activities in Chihuahua after conducting tours with health caravans featuring her image. For this, the PAN denounced her before the Attorney General's Office for 15 electoral and penal offenses. President Claudia Sheinbaum issued a warning to her to avoid such actions.
Chávez positions herself as one of Morena's contenders for the Chihuahua governorship candidacy in the 2027 elections.
