A 15-year-old boy suspected of making threats against Sammilsdalsskolan primary school in central Leksand was cleared by the prosecutor as innocent and released after just a few hours in custody following a police operation on Friday.

On Friday morning, just before 8 a.m., police were alerted to threats posted on social media against Sammilsdalsskolan, a primary school on Noret in central Leksand. Reports prompted a police operation, and a boy around 15 years old was detained on suspicion of unlawful threats. The arrest did not take place near the school.

Police spokesperson Christina Hallin confirmed they acted on calls about the threats received at 7:51 a.m. However, the prosecutor quickly determined the boy was innocent. He was released Friday afternoon, just a few hours after being taken into custody, due to a lack of grounds for continued detention.

No immediate danger was identified, and the school was not evacuated or locked down. Operations continued for the day with additional police presence monitoring entrances and exits. Education chief Annica Sandy-Hedin stated: "The danger is over. It was not an acute incident against the school, and now the police have said it is safe. We have had classes this morning as well but with extra police presence."

The municipality held an information meeting for staff, and students were informed. Eric Salomonsson reported on the incident for Dala-Demokraten.
