This warning covers the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), the Conurbano, the northeast of Buenos Aires province, La Pampa, Neuquén, and Río Negro. Maximum temperatures will approach 35 degrees, with a risk level indicating danger for vulnerable groups, such as minors, people over 65 years old, and those with chronic illnesses.
In these areas, high temperatures are forecast along with storms, with probabilities of hail. The SMN emphasizes that the heat can be dangerous, especially for the mentioned risk groups. Toward the end of the week, the weather will shift with high thermal sensation and unstable conditions.
Additionally, specific alerts for January 13 include storms in Buenos Aires, rains in Tierra del Fuego, and rains with winds in Santa Cruz. For January 12, alerts for storms and rains were reported in four provinces.
The SMN recommended preventive measures: drink water frequently without waiting for thirst, avoid heavy or abundant meals, do not consume alcoholic, sugary, or caffeinated beverages. It advises avoiding sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., staying in ventilated places or with air conditioning, reducing physical activity, wearing light and loose clothing, and protecting oneself with a hat and sunglasses. Special attention to minors, elderly, and pregnant women to avoid adverse situations.
