Bishop Death

Most Rev. Dr. Peter Nworie Chukwu, Catholic bishop of Abakaliki diocese in Ebonyi State, died on April 10, 2026, aged 60 after a brief illness. The diocese announced his passing, stating he had served since August 2021. Governor Francis Nwifuru described the death as shocking.
