Adidas launches foldable BW Army Decon sneaker

Adidas has introduced the BW Army Decon, a new version of its historic German Army Trainer sneaker featuring a collapsible heel that allows it to be worn as either a mule or a traditional shoe. The design maintains the minimalist aesthetic with suede paneling, a white leather base and a Samba-style outsole. It is available on the Adidas website for $120.

The BW Army Decon draws from the original German Army Trainers, or GATs, which Adidas designed in the 1970s for the German military. These slim shoes featured a low profile suited for battlefield use. Adidas revived the model officially in 2017, followed by variations including waxed canvas versions with glossy finishes. The latest iteration adds functionality with its foldable heel, as first reported by Highsnobiety on April 9, 2026. The sneaker preserves its utilitarian roots through suede at the front and a white leather foundation. A sleek silhouette sits atop the familiar Samba outsole, blending historical design with modern versatility. While Maison Margiela holds cultural prominence in GAT-inspired footwear, Adidas points to its authentic tactical heritage. Priced at $120, the BW Army Decon is now listed on the Adidas website, continuing the line's decade-long revival.

Adidas has introduced a new denim version of its Italia 70s sneaker, featuring stitched layers of light and dark blue denim for a contrasting upper. The design includes a signature white rubber toe cap and sole unit, along with gold Italia branding on the side. This iteration continues the model's denim era and is available in a Collage Navy colorway.

Adidas has introduced the Megaride AG in a striking Silver Metallic colorway, blending futuristic design with everyday comfort. The lifestyle sneaker, priced at $200, features an oversized propulsion unit and is set for release in April 2026 through Adidas stores. Its bold aesthetics aim to push boundaries in modern footwear.
