Anindya Bakrie announces Kadin's dispatch of 20,000 migrant workers

Anindya Bakrie, General Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, stated that his organization has dispatched around 20,000 Indonesian migrant workers over the past year. The announcement came during the Kadin 2025 National Leadership Meeting in Jakarta. He also highlighted efforts to upskill these workers and their remittance contributions.

During the Kadin 2025 National Leadership Meeting held in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta, on Monday, December 1, 2025, Anindya Bakrie confirmed that Kadin has dispatched around 20,000 Indonesian migrant workers over the past year. "Tenaga Kerja Migran Indonesia 20 ribu orang Kami kirim dalam waktu setahun," he said.

Anindya noted that countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Europe currently require Indonesian labor. "Mereka membutuhkan tenaga kerja kita, dan ini bagus karena remitansinya kembali ke Indonesia," he stated. Currently, about 5 million Indonesian migrant workers are abroad, generating foreign exchange of Rp 225 trillion annually.

He emphasized Kadin's desire for these workers to upskill, moving beyond domestic roles to become nurses, chefs, or petroleum sector employees. The migrant worker empowerment program is one of Kadin's quick wins, alongside Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Free Health Checks (PKG), and affordable housing construction. Kadin is committed to synergizing with the government to protect and equip migrant workers with skills needed in host countries.

Additionally, Anindya addressed disasters in Sumatra, where Kadin will fundraise for victims in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh. "Kadin sangat prihatin. Makanya kita dari kemarin sudah melakukan penggalangan dana," he said. He plans to visit the field after the Rapimnas, collaborating with the government to handle long-term impacts like infrastructure damage and supply chain disruptions.
