Barry Manilow postpones Las Vegas residency after cancer surgery

Barry Manilow has delayed his upcoming Las Vegas shows to allow more recovery time following surgery for a cancerous spot on his lung. The singer shared a positive update on his health but emphasized the need for rest before his arena tour begins. Tickets for the postponed dates will be refunded.

Barry Manilow announced in December that he would undergo surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his lung. Now, after the procedure, he is postponing his scheduled residency at Westgate Las Vegas, originally set for February 12-21.

In a statement posted to social media on Wednesday, Manilow provided reassurance about his condition. “I’m doing great and recovering very well after my surgery,” he wrote. “I’ve been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic.”

Despite his progress, Manilow is following medical advice to prioritize healing. “With my doctor’s guidance and recommendation, however, we have decided to postpone my residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas from February 12-21 so I can stay focused on healing and getting ready for the tour that’s kicking off at the end of February,” he explained. “Having a few weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered!”

Fans holding tickets for the original dates will receive full refunds. Manilow plans to reschedule and return to the Westgate for performances on March 26, 27, and 28.

His broader plans remain on track, with an arena tour launching February 27 at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. The tour will visit cities including Nashville, Orlando, Charleston, and Portland, concluding April 29 at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

On a musical note, Manilow's recent single, “Once Before I Go,” released in September, has entered the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart this week. This marks a milestone more than 50 years after his debut chart entry with “Mandy” in 1974.
