Bayern Munich defeats Bayer Leverkusen 3-0

Bayern Munich defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Bundesliga, extending their winning streak to 15 matches. Coach Vincent Kompany heavily rotated the lineup, but the team still dominated. Leverkusen, under coach Kasper Hjulmand, ended an impressive away unbeaten run.

Bayern Munich secured a convincing 3-0 win (3-0) over Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena. This result gives the record champions 27 out of 27 possible points and a goal difference of 33-4. It marks their 15th consecutive competitive victory, with a total of 59 goals scored.

In the first half, Leverkusen sat deep defensively, waiting for Munich errors. After 15 minutes, Lennart Karl missed a shot from 16 meters, and Leon Goretzka headed wide shortly after. Serge Gnabry opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a sublime pass from Tom Bischof. Nicolas Jackson, on loan from Chelsea, headed in the second in the 31st minute off a cross from Konrad Laimer—his first Bundesliga goal. Just before halftime (44th minute), Loic Badé deflected Lennart Karl's cross into his own net.

Coach Vincent Kompany rotated heavily: Seven players started fresh, with stars like Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, and Michael Olise on the bench. "Full throttle," demanded Kompany, and the team delivered. The changes aimed at recovery ahead of the Champions League clash at Paris Saint-Germain.

The second half started subdued due to a medical emergency in the Bayern section. Jackson and Raphaël Guerreiro missed chances for a 4-0. After an hour, Kane, Olise, and Díaz entered. Sacha Boey wasted a chance in the 90th minute. Leverkusen, who have earned 16 of 18 points since September under Hjulmand, showed little confidence—even without injured Alejandro Grimaldo.

For Leverkusen, it ended a historic streak: 37 away Bundesliga games unbeaten since May 27, 2023, against Bochum. Bayern remains unbeaten in 13 home games. Positive news for Munich: Jamal Musiala is back in training and could return in December. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl told Sky: "We think he can be back with the team in December. That he might get a few minutes to ease in, so he's 100 percent by January."

Next up: On Tuesday at 9 p.m., PSG hosts Bayern in the Champions League—first versus second after three matchdays.
