BMKG warns of moderate to light rain in major cities

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has urged the public to be alert for potential moderate to light rain in several major Indonesian cities today, Monday.

BMKG forecaster Nurul Izzah Fitria delivered the forecast during a weather broadcast in Jakarta. She noted the potential for moderate rain in Medan and Tanjung Selor.

Light rain is forecast for Padang, Jambi, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Palembang, Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta. Other areas including Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, and Surabaya are expected to see cloudy to overcast skies.

In eastern regions, light rain may occur in Mamuju, Palu, Manado, Manokwari, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. BMKG recommends checking the Info BMKG app and @infobmkg account for updates.
