Boosie Badazz faces lawsuit from security guard over alleged assault

Rapper Boosie Badazz is being sued by a security guard who claims he was struck with a glass hookah during a May incident at a Houston nightclub. The civil suit adds to Boosie's earlier arrest in the case.

Edward Iglehart II alleges the assault happened on May 24 at the Dome Nightclub in Houston. He says he was working VIP security when a woman connected to Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., argued with him and fell during a struggle. Iglehart claims Boosie then hit him with the hookah, leaving him bleeding and requiring hospital treatment.

The guard is suing Boosie for assault, battery and defamation over social media comments. He is also targeting the club’s owners for overserving alcohol and creating an unsafe environment. Boosie’s attorney Carl A. Moore stated they will “vigorously investigate and defend” the rapper, who was trying to “defend his female relative.”

Boosie was arrested in May following the same alleged events. The club had described the woman as his niece to police.
