Bridget Moynahan has been cast as a series regular in Hulu's upcoming football drama The Land, created by Dan Fogelman. She will play Belinda, the ex-wife of the team's head coach, portrayed by Christopher Meloni. The series, set in the world of professional football, is currently in production.
Bridget Moynahan, known for her role as ADA Erin Reagan on CBS's Blue Bloods for all 14 seasons until its conclusion in 2024, has joined the cast of Hulu's new series The Land. According to reports from Deadline and TVLine, Moynahan will portray Belinda, the ex-wife of Danny, the NFL team's head coach played by Christopher Meloni. The show, created and written by Dan Fogelman of This Is Us fame, received a series order from Hulu in October 2024 and explores the world of professional football with a generational family element.
The ensemble cast includes William H. Macy as team owner Hank Durkin, Mandy Moore as Hank's daughter Lauren, and Chloe Bennet as another of Hank's daughters. Sam Corlett and Tanner Zagarino play Danny's sons, while Chace Crawford is set as the team's new general manager. Production is underway from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, with executive producers including Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Kevin Falls, David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed.
William H. Macy described the scripts to Deadline as "brilliant" and "Shakespearean," noting, “It’s about a football team, nominally the Cleveland Browns. It’s called The Land because that’s what people from Cleveland call it.” He added, “They’re brilliant scripts. They’re Shakespearean. It’s about football, but, oh, my lord, the plots are so profound, and I’m having the time of my life.”
Moynahan has also appeared as Natasha, Mr. Big's wife, on Sex and the City, reprising the role in the HBO Max sequel And Just Like That. She recently guest-starred as Erin Reagan on the Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue. No premiere date for The Land has been announced.
