Santiago de Cali marks its 490th anniversary on July 25 with a schedule of free events that include sports, culture and community activities.
The Alcaldía de Cali organized the programming that will mainly take place between July 25 and 30. Among the activities are the 4.9K Cali 490 years race on Sunday July 26 and the football match “Un picaíto por Cali” on Saturday July 25 at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium.
The Gran Concierto Cali 490 will be held on Saturday July 25 at the Plaza de Caicedo with the participation of Jimmy Saa. Tourist tours, bird-watching sessions and institutional services fairs were also scheduled.
The district administration will implement mobility and security operations. The celebration seeks to boost the local economy and tourism with the participation of the business sector under the campaign “Cali se viste de empatía”.
