Newcomer Alix Wilton Regan, taking over for the upcoming Catalyst and Legacy of Atlantis remake, expressed thrill at the role.

Building on Crystal Dynamics' reveal at The Game Awards 2025 of Alix Wilton Regan as the new voice and motion capture performer for Lara Croft, Camilla Luddington posted a touching farewell on social media. Luddington, who originated the rebooted Lara in the 2013 Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015), and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018), reflected: "To join the list of Lara Crofts before me was an incredible honour and she will forever be a part of me. The Survivor Trilogy was a decade of adventure I will never ever forget. I could not be prouder of what we created."
In a symbolic handover, Luddington joked about passing her bow and arrows to Regan, found at Croft Manor. Regan, with credits including Aya in Assassin's Creed Origins, Alt Cunningham in Cyberpunk 2077, and Lea in Lies of P: Overture, called it her career pinnacle: "This Lara Croft just wanted to say thank you, and get excited. We are just getting started guys. We are Just. Getting. Started."
