Convicted CEO leaves nuclear power project in Barsebäck

Göran Engberg, convicted of tax crimes, is leaving his role as CEO of the company behind plans for new nuclear power in Barsebäck. The company is now entering its next phase under new leadership.

Göran Engberg has been the front figure for Nordic Nuclear Energy and the plans launched to re-establish nuclear power in Barsebäck.

In January Kävlinge municipality signed a letter of intent with the company. The aim was to examine conditions for at least one boiling water reactor at the site.

The company's tasks have included authority contacts and securing capital. The leadership change now takes place ahead of the project's next stage.
