Dømt direktør forlader atomkraftprojekt i Barsebäck

Göran Engberg, der er dømt for skattekriminalitet, forlader sin post som direktør for selskabet bag planerne om ny atomkraft i Barsebäck. Selskabet går nu ind i sin næste fase under ny ledelse.

Göran Engberg har været frontfigur for Nordic Nuclear Energy og de planer, der blev lanceret for at genetablere atomkraft i Barsebäck. I januar underskrev Kävlinge kommune en hensigtserklæring med selskabet. Formålet var at undersøge betingelserne for mindst én kogevandsreaktor på stedet. Selskabets opgaver har blandt andet omfattet myndighedskontakt og sikring af kapital. Ledelsesskiftet sker nu forud for projektets næste fase.

German company Uniper, owner of Barsebäck, has rejected an application to build two new boiling water reactors at the site. The application comes from Nordic Baseload Power which is also seeking government support.

A consortium led by Wallenberg Investments has injected 15 billion kronor into the crisis-hit steel company Stegra. The investment paves the way to complete the fossil-free steel plant in Boden and reduces bankruptcy risks. Wallenberg becomes the largest owner, with Leif Johansson as new chairman.
