Vattenfall vælger Rolls-Royce til nye reaktorer ved Ringhals

Vattenfall har valgt Rolls-Royce som leverandør til tre nye små modulære reaktorer ved Ringhals. Udmeldingen kom på et pressemøde mandag den 15. juni.

Udvælgelsesprocessen af leverandør har stået på i fire år. Beslutningen blev truffet af projektselskabet Videberg Kraft, der ejes af staten, Vattenfall og Industrikraft.

Kontrakten omfatter tre reaktorer med en effekt på 470 megawatt hver. De skal bygges på Värö-halvøen, og den første forventes at blive sat i drift i midten af 2030'erne. Det bliver første gang i over 40 år, at der bygges ny kernekraft i Sverige.

Energi- og erhvervsminister Ebba Busch (KD) kaldte beslutningen et stort skridt for det svenske kernekraftprogram. Finansminister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) beskrev det som en milepæl og understregede, at byggeriet vil skabe arbejdspladser og styrke økonomien.

Der pågår nu forhandlinger om aftaler med Videberg Kraft og en ansøgning om statsstøtte hos EU-Kommissionen.
