Court remands three suspects in Ogun broadcaster murder case

A Magistrate Court in Abeokuta on Monday ordered three suspects remanded for 60 days in connection with the killings of retired broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her guard Pelumi Adetayo.

Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo issued the order at the Isabo Court following an application by the Ogun State Police Command. The suspects, identified as Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, Sobu Obafunsho and Shakirudeen Ayoola, were remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre pending advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The victims were found dead in June at Oyesiku's residence in Agodo, Abeokuta. Police recovered Oyesiku's Lexus RX330 SUV and linked the suspects to the crime through a handwritten note and other evidence.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi said the command would ensure justice is served. The case was adjourned until September 10, 2026.
