DentaQuest confirms cybersecurity incident after data surfaces

DentaQuest has confirmed a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to part of its network. Health data linked to 2.6 million accounts appeared on a public breach listing this week.

The company said it is actively managing the incident and has taken steps to secure its systems. DentaQuest stated that its systems remain fully operational with limited disruption to clients. Have I Been Pwned listed the breach on June 3 and reported that it occurred in May 2026. The exposed data reportedly includes email addresses, names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, genders, government-issued IDs, and health insurance information. BleepingComputer reported that the ShinyHunters group listed DentaQuest on its leak site and claimed to have stolen more than 234 GB of data. The group made the data public after negotiations failed. DentaQuest has not confirmed the 2.6 million figure or the full set of affected data elements. The company is working with cybersecurity experts, forensic investigators, and law enforcement to determine the scope.
