Egypt inaugurates MENA’s largest AI-powered quick-commerce fulfilment hub

Egypt has inaugurated the Middle East and North Africa’s largest quick-commerce fulfilment centre, developed by Talabat Egypt in the Yanmu East logistics complex on the Cairo-Suez Road. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi led the opening ceremony representing the Prime Minister, attended by ministers of finance, investment, and industry. The facility can handle up to one million items per day using advanced AI technologies.

Raafat Hindi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, led the official opening representing the Prime Minister. The ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, and Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency.

Spanning 27,000 square metres in partnership with Hassan Allam Utilities, the hub supports all of Talabat Mart’s operations in 12 Egyptian cities, with plans to reach 17. It features real-time integrated systems and proprietary AI models for demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and automation, accommodating 75,000 storage locations.

Hindi stated that the AI-powered centre reflects growing investor confidence in Egypt’s market, driven by digital infrastructure improvements and mobile services growth. Talabat CEO Tomaso Rodriguez called it a major milestone enhancing operational reliability and partner support. Mohamed Sakina, Regional General Manager of Talabat Mart, described it as a smart logistics ecosystem aligned with best practices.

Talabat Egypt employs around 3,100 people, including over 1,600 specialists in its technology centre supporting eight markets.
