Ethiopia convenes national conference on data sovereignty

Senior government officials gathered in Addis Ababa for a two-day national conference and exhibition focused on national data sovereignty and integrated development administration.

The conference takes place at the Addis World International Convention Center under the theme "Data Sovereignty for Policy Independence."

It aims to strengthen Ethiopia's data management and use for national development. The gathering highlights the country's shift from an uncoordinated data system toward a coordinated digital and indigenous data ecosystem.

An exhibition showcasing the data revolution and completed digital modernization works opens alongside the conference. It will lay the foundation for enforcing the "one plan, one report, one budget" approach across institutions.
