Fathom Entertainment acquires U.S. rights to Sacred Heart docudrama

Fathom Entertainment has acquired U.S. theatrical distribution rights for the French docudrama Sacred Heart. The film, directed by Steven Gunnell and Sabrina Gunnell, will receive a limited release June 9-11 and June 14 in English-dubbed and Spanish-language versions. It explores the origins of the Catholic devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Fathom Entertainment announced it has secured U.S. distribution rights for Sacred Heart, a docudrama produced by KREA Film-Makers. The limited theatrical run is scheduled for June 9 through 11 and June 14, with screenings available in both English-dubbed and Spanish versions across select theaters. The Gunnells drew inspiration for the project from visits to religious sites in Burgundy, France, including Paray-le-Monial, the location tied to 17th-century visions of Margaret Mary Alacoque that form the devotion's roots. The film blends dramatized scenes with insights from clergy, historians, theologians, and modern testimonials on the devotion's impact. Originally released in France in October 2025, Sacred Heart attracted nearly 1 million admissions across Europe under Saje Distribution. The directors stated, “The world is dying from not knowing it is loved by God. This film is simply an answer and an invitation — an invitation toward this divine love.” U.S. screenings will feature a bonus segment with clergy and lay voices discussing the devotion's contemporary relevance, aligned with a planned consecration initiative by U.S. Catholic bishops.
