Funke Akindele recalls hustling jobs at UNILAG

Nollywood producer Funke Akindele has described the various jobs she took on to support herself while studying at the University of Lagos.

Akindele learned nail-making by watching others in Yaba and offered the service to students on campus. One client slapped her after being unhappy with the result.

She also sold cakes and worked as a makeup artist. Akindele designed and sold costumes and served as a location manager for film productions.

To make extra income she sold bed space in the university hostel. Akindele said these experiences shaped her into a firm person.
