Mikael 'Greken' Tenezos, alleged leader of the Dalen network, has been detained in Sweden for around 30 serious crimes following extradition from Mexico. He faces charges including drug smuggling, attempted murder, and involving minors in criminal activities. Tenezos denies all allegations.
Mikael 'Greken' Tenezos, 27, alleged leader of the criminal Dalen network in southern Stockholm, was arrested on October 11 in Mexico on a highway between Cancún and Mérida. He was extradited to Sweden on Friday and participated via video link in detention hearings on Sunday, October 19, at Sundsvall, Södertälje, and Södertörn District Courts.
At Sundsvall District Court, he was detained on probable cause for two counts of serious drug smuggling, attempted serious drug smuggling, and money laundering, related to smuggling five kilograms of cannabis from Barcelona to Sweden in 2020–2021 and storing 85,000 kronor in cash. In Södertälje, he is linked to violent acts in summer 2024, including a shooting in Hovsjö on July 22 where a 16-year-old was shot in the neck but survived, a grenade attack on a grocery store in Geneta injuring a woman seriously, and a home invasion in Åkersberga on July 10 where a man was shot in the leg. Charges include preparation for murder, extremely serious weapons offenses, and involving minors.
At Södertörn District Court, it concerns serious drug offenses with 15 kilograms of cannabis in 2020 and money laundering with 35,000 kronor. Overall, it involves around 30 crimes from 2020 to 2024. Tenezos, dressed in green prison clothes, sat with crossed arms during the hearings at Stockholm District Court and contested the detention through his lawyer.
Prosecutor Henrik Söderman commented: 'We will now conduct the investigation regarding this criminality and see where we end up.' Defense lawyer Joel Apitzsch said: 'He denies these crimes and had of course hoped for a different outcome.' Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson wrote: 'Now we have him.' Tenezos faces restrictions, including a ban on news media. Prosecution must be raised by November 17, but the investigation continues.
