Google and Samsung team up with Gentle Monster for AI glasses

Google and Samsung have partnered with South Korean eyewear label Gentle Monster to release smart glasses this fall. The collaboration combines fashion design with artificial intelligence features powered by Google.

The new glasses feature an all-black cat-eye frame. Samsung supplies two cameras positioned discreetly on the sides of the frames. Google contributes its Gemini AI, which lets wearers send messages, translate text, and navigate without using a phone.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Meta, accusing the company of misleading consumers about the privacy features of its Ray-Ban smart glasses. The suit follows a Swedish report revealing that contractors in Kenya reviewed sensitive footage captured by the devices, including bathroom use and intimate moments. Meta has confirmed using human reviewers for some data but claims privacy protections are in place.
