Government responds to PP accusations on Grandchildren Law

Government spokesperson Elma Saiz on Monday rejected PP criticism over the Grandchildren Law and linked the accusations to the opposition party's electoral desperation.

Elma Saiz defended the Grandchildren Law during the press conference after the Council of Ministers. She stated that the rule is based on principles of reparation and justice for descendants of Franco-era exiles.

The spokesperson described the accusations by Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Isabel Díaz Ayuso as irresponsible. She indicated they show frustration ahead of a possible electoral defeat.

The PP has accused the Government of inflating the electoral census through the Grandchildren Law. Feijóo described the process as electoral engineering and Ayuso stated that the distribution of seats is illegal.
