Francos ruled out taking another state position, saying: “No creo que esté en posición de ir a otro lugar en el Estado”, though he left open future collaboration, thanking Milei for "the opportunity to serve with loyalty and patriotism".
The President's Office responded on X, accepting the resignation and praising Francos for his role in the past two years' reforms, including dialogue with political forces that enabled approval of the Ley Bases, Ley Antimafias, and Juicio en Ausencia. The statement noted Francos was "fundamental in this first stage of the Government to advance all the reforms". Manuel Adorni, elected Buenos Aires city legislator with 30.1% of votes in May but who will not take his seat, will assume the role on Monday, retaining his spokesman duties with Javier Lanari as secretary. Minutes later, Lisandro Catalán, Francos' trusted aide and Interior Minister since September after the September 7 electoral defeat, submitted his resignation on X: "Me dirijo a usted para presentarle mi renuncia al cargo de Ministro del Interior, que he tenido el honor de desempeñar bajo su conducción". Catalán thanked Milei's trust and reaffirmed support: "Voy a seguir apoyando esta gestión y a La Libertad Avanza, porque estoy convencido que las ideas de la libertad son las que van a transformar a la Argentina". Additionally, José Luis Vila left the National Strategy Secretariat. These exits followed Milei's meeting with 20 of 24 governors, seeking consensus for the 2026 Budget and labor and tax reforms, though some provincial leaders were not informed of the changes.
