GM Hikaru Nakamura claimed victory in the opening 3+0 Thursday tournament on July 16 with 9.5 points. GM Sergey Drygalov secured his first win in the second event, and IM Renato Terry took the third for a record 16th title.
Nakamura described the 3+0 time control as his strongest format during his stream. He won his first four games and finished with a draw in the final round against GM Sina Movahed to top the standings.
Drygalov earned the second tournament title on tiebreaks ahead of GM Fabiano Caruana after a series of attacking wins, including a knight sacrifice in the final round. Martinez finished third with 8.5 points.
Terry overcame an early loss to GM Parham Maghsoodloo and clinched the third event with the best tiebreaks after defeating GM Christopher Yoo. The weekly series consists of three 11-round Swiss tournaments for titled players with a combined $3,000 prize fund.
