Holthinrichs releases Lab Series 1.S and 1.GMT watches

Dutch watchmaker Holthinrichs has introduced the Lab Series 1.S and Lab Series 1.GMT as its first special releases marking the brand's 10th anniversary. Both models feature 3D-printed titanium cases and unique domed copper-oxide patina dials. Limited to 100 pieces each, they are available for order on the brand's website.

Holthinrichs, based in Delft, Netherlands, unveiled the Lab Series 1.S and 1.GMT, drawing on the brand's history with a small-seconds layout from its first watch and the Horlogerie Brut concept from 2021. The watches use solid copper dials treated to create azure-blue tones with mossy-green accents through an in-house patina process. Each has a 38.5mm-wide Grade 5 titanium case that measures 46mm long and 9.85mm thick, excluding the domed sapphire crystal, with skeletonized lugs for a distinctive feel. The cases are 3D-printed, differing from the CNC-machined Signature Ornament model referenced in prior coverage from 2024. The Lab Series 1.S includes a sub-seconds register with a sunburst pattern radiating from it, titanium cantilevered hour markers, and a Sellita SW360-1 movement with 31 jewels, a 56-hour power reserve, and 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its exhibition caseback reveals a patinated, hand-carved tungsten rotor with blue and purple tones. It pairs with a cognac-colored rooster-leg-leather strap and a titanium buckle, priced at €5,900 excluding taxes. The Lab Series 1.GMT adds a traveler's map on its dial—an azimuthal projection of Earth from the North Pole—with a 24-hour ring of dotted markers and Breguet-style numerals. Powered by the Sellita SW330-2 caller-style GMT caliber with 25 jewels and the same frequency and reserve, it features luminous hands and markers. It ships on a burgundy rooster-leg-leather strap with a titanium pin buckle, retailing for €6,500 excluding taxes. Hands-on impressions highlight the watches' elegant yet striking presence, blending industrial textures with Art Deco-inspired grace.
