Hong Kong school to merge amid enrolment decline

Fresh Fish Traders School in Tai Kok Tsui will merge with CCC Kei Tsun Primary School on September 1 following a circular issued on Tuesday.

The 57-year-old school was among 15 institutions allocated zero Primary One classes for the coming term due to declining student numbers in Hong Kong.

Principal Sze Chi-king wrote to parents that the name and scale of the school will change while pledging that love and responsibility to every pupil will not.

The merger plan was approved by the Education Bureau after a warning issued two months ago. Parent briefing sessions will soon be held to explain curriculum alignment and support arrangements.
