The project focuses on enhancing institutional capacities, professionalizing recruitment processes, and safeguarding the rights of migrant workers. It also emphasizes skills development and recognition to create better employment pathways for skilled and semi-skilled Ethiopian workers. Oversight is shared between the ILO and Ethiopia's Ministry of Labor and Skills.
Further efforts include fostering bilateral and multilateral partnerships while upgrading labour migration data systems. By addressing these areas, the program aims to promote more secure and structured migration opportunities, benefiting both migrants and the Ethiopian economy without introducing new risks.
