Isaías Barrera, 20, died Monday after two days in hospital with severe burns in Marcos Juárez. His family suspects an attack by his partner while justice investigates a possible accident.
Isaías Barrera was 20 years old and lived in Marcos Juárez, Córdoba. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and did occasional masonry work. On Saturday afternoon he suffered a fire at a home on Zeballos Street at 1200.
He was first treated at Hospital Abel Ayerza and then transferred to the Instituto del Quemado de Córdoba. He died Monday night with burns on 95 percent of his body.
The family, including his mother Valeria García, maintains that his partner S. S. attacked him during a fight and threw fuel on him. The Fiscalía de Instrucción de Marcos Juárez, led by prosecutor Fernando Epelde, is investigating whether the incident was accidental while he repaired a motorcycle.
