Jack Draper to face Marcos Giron after Nakashima withdrawal at Eastbourne

Jack Draper will open his Eastbourne Open campaign against Marcos Giron after Brandon Nakashima withdrew hours before their scheduled first-round match.

The British player is returning to action following a knee injury that sidelined him for more than two months. Nakashima pulled out after reaching the semifinals of the HSBC Championships, allowing lucky loser Giron to take his place in the draw.

Draper holds a 3-0 head-to-head record against Giron across clay, grass and hard courts. His most recent win came in straight sets at the Monte-Carlo Masters last year.

The 24-year-old is coached by Andy Murray for the grass-court swing. Draper told the Lawn Tennis Association he is eager to compete again after multiple setbacks.

Eastbourne serves as preparation ahead of Wimbledon, where Draper hopes to regain form and ranking points.
