Judge Lijo rejects suspending voice analysis in ANDIS case

Federal Judge Ariel Lijo rejected Diego Spagnuolo's request to annul or suspend the analysis comparing his voice with audios in the alleged corruption case at the National Disability Agency.

The July 13, 2026 ruling confirms the test will proceed. Spagnuolo, indicted in the investigation opened in August 2025, had argued the measure turned him into a test subject and violated protection against self-incrimination.

Lijo explained that obtaining a voice sample is a biometric trait comparable to fingerprints or DNA and does not involve a statement about the facts. The judge noted that the defense initially pushed for verification of the audios and that it is now inconsistent to stop that same analysis.

Prosecutor Franco Picardi had requested to continue with the examination. The Federal Chamber ordered the analysis after the indictments, although the audios were not used as evidence at that stage.
