Kit delivery excites runners for Metrópoles Run

The kit delivery for Metrópoles Run began on Friday (19/12) in Brasília, generating excitement among professional and amateur athletes. The event, set for Sunday (21/12), features 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km races at Eixão do Lazer. Participants emphasize the race's role in health and personal overcoming.

The kit delivery for Metrópoles Run, held on Friday (19/12), kicked off preparations for the major street race scheduled for Sunday (21/12) at Eixão do Lazer, at the 102/103 height of Asa Norte in Brasília. From 9 a.m., runners crowded the official stand in front of the EQN 102/3 building to pick up materials, including t-shirt, backpack, bib number, and chip. Pickup continues until Saturday (20/12), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the same location.

The space opened with full facilities, featuring music by DJ Nilo Zica and a healthy snacks island with fruits, healthy brownie, and toasts to energize participants. An atmosphere of relaxation and excitement prevailed among registrants.

Among the athletes, Metrópoles' news editor Otto Valle will run the 10 km alongside his wife, journalist Manoela Alcântara. “Street running has become popular across the country. It's a way to combine fun with friends and maintain a healthy routine. I'll try to take advantage of the milder weather to lower my pace,” Otto commented.

The couple José Alexandre and Nancy Costa de Lisboa, who have been running since 2019, will debut in the 5 km. José Alexandre plans to dress as Santa Claus: “I'll dress up as Santa Claus. It's a tradition,” he said.

Personal trainer Ana Flávia aims for the podium in the 15 km. “I've always liked practicing physical activity. I come from a sports family; my father is a cyclist,” she explained. She added: “Each race is different; each day the body responds in its own way. Running is all about that: overcoming your own limits. That's why I love running”.

Metrópoles Run is organized by the Instituto Nacional de Desenvolvimento Social Brasileiro (Inbras), supervised by the Federação de Atletismo do Distrito Federal (FATDF), and compliant with Confederação Brasileira de Atletismo (CBAt) rules. It has support from entities like the Tourism Secretariat, IMP Concursos, and Fiat. The start is from 6:30 a.m., with awards at 8:15 a.m.
