Levon Kirkland hopes for Steelers Hall of Honor spot

Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Levon Kirkland expressed hope of one day joining the franchise's Hall of Honor. The comment came during a recent podcast appearance after fans warmly greeted him at the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

Kirkland played nine seasons with the Steelers after being selected in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft out of Clemson. He appeared in 144 regular-season games and recorded 1,026 tackles along with 18.5 sacks.

The 49-year-old twice earned Pro Bowl honors and was named first-team All-Pro in 1997. He also reached the AFC Championship Game that year.

In the interview, Kirkland said the fan recognition meant everything to him. He added that he was tough on himself during his career and only later appreciated his contributions.

The Steelers' Hall of Honor class of 2026 will be announced this summer.
