Mboko and Baptiste to miss US Open due to knee injuries

Victoria Mboko and Hailey Baptiste will miss the 2026 US Open as both recover from serious knee injuries sustained earlier this season.

The Canadian player suffered an MCL injury in her left knee during a match at Queen’s Club in June. She withdrew from Wimbledon and the Canadian Open, and is not on the US Open entry list.

Baptiste tore her ACL and damaged her meniscus at the French Open in May. She underwent surgery and faces a recovery of at least six months.

Mboko said of missing the event, “Knowing that I won’t be able to play this year, it’s very saddening.” Baptiste described the injury as “the most heartbreaking end to the best season of my life.”

Both players had reached career milestones before their setbacks, with Mboko entering the top 10 and Baptiste achieving a ranking of world No. 25.
