Emma Raducanu is set to miss the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open after a final scan revealed a grade-four stress fracture in her right shin. The British player withdrew from Wimbledon hours before her first-round match following the diagnosis.
Raducanu had reached the final at Queen’s Club but had already skipped the Nottingham Open and Eastbourne Open because of a niggle that worsened. Recovery from such an injury typically requires six to twelve weeks, placing her US Open participation, which begins August 30, in doubt.
The 2021 US Open champion faces a drop outside the world’s top 60 as ranking points from last year’s runs in Washington, Toronto, and Cincinnati expire without replacement. She has not issued a new public update on her condition since her Wimbledon statement.
This marks another interruption in Raducanu’s career, which has included multiple surgeries since her 2021 title.
