Mexico City installs seven giant screens for 2026 World Cup

Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada announced the placement of seven new screens at key points in the capital so more fans can watch Mexico's matches in the World Cup.

The screens will be located along Paseo de la Reforma and in the Historic Center. The sites include Alameda Central on Avenida Juárez, the Ángel de la Independencia with at least two screens, El Caballito, the intersection of Paseo de la Reforma and Insurgentes, the Glorieta de la Diana Cazadora and the Monumento a la Revolución.

These venues add to the FIFA Fan Fest at the Zócalo and the 18 soccer festivals already set up in the boroughs. The new screens will be ready to broadcast the Mexico versus Czechia match on June 24 at 19:00 hours.

Authorities said the installations will remain after that game for other World Cup matches, though it has not yet been defined which matches those will be.
