Sky Sports Formula 1 analyst Naomi Schiff says the competitive scar tissue between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will never fully disappear. The comments follow their on-track battle at the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix. The pair now share a cordial relationship after years of intense rivalry.
Schiff made the remarks on the Up To Speed podcast. She recalled an earlier interview with Hamilton in which the seven-time champion described Verstappen as a rival worthy of respect but unlikely to become a close friend. Hamilton had noted the hard wheel-to-wheel racing between them during the 2021 season, which included the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix finale.
