The streaming landscape saw mixed fortunes for TV series this week. Netflix announced the cancellation of Kaos, a modern retelling of Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, alongside Janet McTeer, Aurora Perrineau, and others. The show, which premiered earlier this year, will not return for a second season.
On a brighter note, Peacock renewed Day Of The Jackal for a second season. The thriller, featuring Eddie Redmayne as the assassin and Lashana Lynch as his pursuer, earned the extension due to strong viewership ratings since its November debut.
MGM+ also greenlit a fourth season of the horror series From, led by Harold Perrineau. Perrineau shared the news via a video message, teasing more "unrelenting nightmares" for the show, which traps its characters in a mysterious town.
Meanwhile, CBS is expanding the Blue Bloods universe with a spin-off titled Boston Blue. Donnie Wahlberg will reprise his role as Danny Reagan, shifting the focus to Boston, or "Beantown," for new stories in the police procedural franchise.
