Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old is set to travel to Tyneside for a medical, with the club widely reported to have agreed a fee of €50 million (£42.8 million) with the Bundesliga side.
Toure is poised to become Newcastle’s second signing of the summer. He follows France Under-21 goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, who arrived from Reims. Toure scored five goals and provided nine assists for Hoffenheim last season.
The move comes shortly after reports that Newcastle had agreed to sell midfielder Sandro Tonali to Tottenham in a deal worth £100 million. Anthony Gordon had already departed for Barcelona in a €80 million deal in May.
