Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono revealed he faces 10 police reports related to his stand-up special Mens Rea following an examination at Bareskrim Polri. Pandji emphasized that his comedy is paid entertainment and he will continue to express himself freely.
Jakarta, VIVA – The controversy surrounding Pandji Pragiwaksono's stand-up comedy special Mens Rea continues after he underwent examination at Bareskrim Polri. In an interview on Denny Sumargo's YouTube channel on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Pandji revealed the number of police reports against him reached 10, far more than initially thought.
"Sepuluh katanya," Pandji said. He admitted forgetting the details of all reports but noted some involved allegations of insulting Vice President Gibran's physical appearance and blasphemy. One report concerned a prayer scene in his material, filed by parties claiming to represent Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah.
"Betul, NU, yang mengaku mewakili NU dan Muhammadiyah. Gua lupa siapa aja," he added. Pandji was surprised because Mens Rea is a paid comedy show on Netflix, watched voluntarily. "Kaget sih sejujurnya. Terus gua ini kan cuma bercandaan, ini kan komedi jelaslah... Lah orang bayar untuk nonton kok," he stressed.
Nevertheless, Pandji no longer worries about offending others. Previous legal experiences, including a cat case, made him stop considering material safety. "Gue udah berhenti mikirin apakah ini aman atau tidak... Gue ngomong apapun yang gue mau," he said, emphasizing good intentions in his work without malicious intent.
