Perseverance rover captures mars selfie during western trek

NASA's Perseverance rover sent back a new selfie from Mars this week after venturing west of Jezero Crater.

The rover took the sixth selfie of its mission on March 11 while exploring a rocky outcrop called Arathusa. The image, made from 61 photos captured by a camera on its robotic arm, shows the terrain in the Lac de Charmes region, described by NASA as some of the most scientifically compelling ground visited so far.

Astronauts aboard NASA's Artemis II mission captured striking images of the Moon and Earth using iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphones during their recent lunar flyby. The crew, including Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen, also employed Nikon cameras for high-resolution shots now being released by NASA. The mission, which launched on April 1, reached a record distance from Earth and is set to splash down off California this week.

NASA’s Psyche spacecraft flew past Mars on May 15, capturing detailed images of the planet’s surface. The close encounter provided a gravity boost to speed the mission toward its main target.

Nasa has released images captured by the Psyche spacecraft during its recent flyby of Mars. The photos were taken as the probe used the planet's gravity to adjust its trajectory toward the asteroid 16 Psyche.

NASA's Artemis II mission has reached day six, with its four-person crew nearing the far side of the moon. The spacecraft remains on track for a lunar flyby while the astronauts share images and videos of Earth. They are also testing systems for future missions and addressing a toilet issue.

Nasa's Psyche spacecraft has used Mars' gravity to accelerate toward its target asteroid. The maneuver occurred on May 15 when the probe passed close to the planet.

NASA has awarded nearly $720 million in contracts for two one-ton South Pole rovers and their Blue Origin lander delivery, signaling a narrower focus than earlier full-scale base concepts.
