National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac announced the plans during a June 5 press briefing. Lee's trip runs from June 9 to June 18 and includes the G7 summit at the group's invitation. Lee will stay in Brussels from June 9 to 10 for separate summits with Belgian leaders and the European Union. This year marks the 125th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The state visit to Italy runs from June 11 to 13. Lee will meet President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He will visit the Vatican from June 14 to 15 to meet Pope Leo XIV. The G7 summit takes place in Evian, France, from June 15 to 17. Lee is scheduled to attend sessions on June 16 and 17.
