Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Dras on July 25 to mark the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He said the intent of infiltrators has not changed since 1999.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh toured Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh’s Drass on July 25. He spoke at Shaurya Bhoj and Shaurya Sandhya events at the Kargil War Memorial.
Singh said the intention of the enemy remains the same and proxy war is still used as a tactic. He added that the Indian Army is fully prepared to foil such designs.
The minister paid tributes to soldiers who died in the 1999 Operation Vijay. Ten families of Kargil War bravehearts were felicitated during the events.
The Army also held a drone capabilities display and a cultural programme at Vishwanathan Stadium in Dras. Singh is scheduled to attend the national homage ceremony on July 26 as chief guest.
