Real Madrid has raised its offer for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande to around £98 million. The 19-year-old has agreed personal terms but club-to-club talks continue after an initial £85 million bid was rejected.
Yan Diomande returned to RB Leipzig on Monday for performance tests following Ivory Coast's World Cup campaign. The teenager made four appearances as the Ivorians exited in the round of 32.
Leipzig signed Diomande from Leganes last year after activating his £17 million release clause. His value has since risen sharply to between £87 million and £104 million.
Former Leganes coach Borja Jimenez said he always expected such growth. "I told them that within a year he would be worth two or three times that," Jimenez recalled.
A move to Madrid would make Diomande the most expensive African player in history. The deal is set to be completed in the coming days if the offer reaches around £102 million.
