Housemarque has released a new trial for its roguelike shooter Saros on PlayStation 5. The two-and-a-half hour demo is available exclusively to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. The move comes as the game experiences slower sales than its predecessor Returnal.
Housemarque announced the trial on its official X account on Monday. The trial requires a Premium subscription, which costs £15 or $16 per month.
Saros is the follow-up to Returnal, which released in 2021. Both titles have received critical acclaim, though Saros has shown weaker sales momentum despite the larger PlayStation 5 user base in 2026.
The developer expressed optimism in a recent interview. "This is just the start of the discussion and conversation with the gaming community," Housemarque said. "If you have played Saros, you know that there are a lot of things that we can do and tweak and add."
The game carries a £70 or $70 price tag. Analysts have noted concerns that Saros may struggle to break even under current market conditions.
